ULFT Rebate Program

It is important for everyone to aid in the conservation of our most important natural resource, water. Therefore, your local water suppliers are offering you an opportunity to participate in an Ultra Low-Flush Toilet rebate program. The program will begin January 1, 1998. (Sorry, but purchases made prior to this date are not eligible for the program.) Customers living in single family residences or individually metered multi-family residences are eligible for this program. Simply replace your old water-guzzling toilet with a new 1.6-gallon model and you'll receive a rebate of up to $60 (maximum of two toilets per household).

Participating agencies include: California-American Water Company, California Water Service Company, Camrosa Water District, Oak Park Water Service, City of Thousand Oaks, , City of Port Hueneme, Ventura County Waterworks Districts, Calleguas Municipal Water District and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

How can you participate? Well, it's simple.

1. Simply call your retail water agency to obtain a reservation number and a Rebate Flyer (if you don't have one call your local water agency or click on the name of your local water agency above). Write your reservation number in the appropriate area on your Rebate Flyer.

2. Next, purchase a new 1.6-gallon per flush toilet. In accordance with California Building Code, all toilets manufactured after 1992 are 1.6-gallon models so your local hardware or plumbing stores will likely stock a variety of models.

3. Fill in the remaining information on the Rebate Flyer. This information should include your home address, phone number, your customer account number with your retail water agency, and the make, model and serial number of your new toilet.

4. Next, install your new toilet and arrange to have your old toilet recycled. Contact your retail agency for a recycling site near you.

5. Send your original purchase receipt, the recycling receipt and the bottom of the Rebate Flyer to your retail agency for processing. You must specify if you would like these items returned to you with your rebate check.

After your paperwork is processed, the rebate check will be mailed to you (with the original receipts, if requested). This process will likely take 2-3 weeks.

Thank you for your interest in the program and for helping conserve our precious water supplies.
