Calleguas is an independent special district organized under Article 9 of the Municipal Water District Act of 1911 through an election in 1953. Its Board of Directors reviews all financial activity monthly. Financial records are audited annually by an independent accounting firm, which prepares the annual financial statements. Calleguas provides those statements to the State Auditor.
